Carnegie Hall blogs about the Musical Explorers Program

Read the blog here!

Carnegie Hall featured a short and sweet piece on their blog about the Musical Explorers Program, which I was proud and thrilled to be a part of; I was one of three featured artists (alongside Emeline Michel, an incredible Haitian singer, and The Wiyos, a wonderful American roots music group) in the concert series that ran last week.  Through the curriculum we developed together, 5000 children in New York City schools learned Albanian and Bulgarian songs, and the feeling of 500 kids singing along with you in each show is beyond description.  I think elation is the closest thing I can find to articulate the energy I felt from those kids, and I feel such gratitude to their dedicated teachers who helped them learn the rhythms and the songs.  Thanks also to my dear friends and colleagues Ariadne Greif, Pera (Peter) Stan and Yuliyan Yordanov.  Please enjoy the link.
